TLTradeLicenseTestsState trade exam prep

TradeLicenseTests provides independent NHIE and state-law exam prep, flashcards, and a technical study curriculum. It is not state-approved pre-license credit (Ohio’s 80 hours, Indiana’s 60 hours, or Kentucky’s 64 in-person hours) and it is not continuing education. A simulator percentage is a practice readiness benchmark, with 75 percent as the target on this bank. It is not an official EBPHI scaled score of 200 to 800.

Site and surface water

What the task is asking

The site task is whether water, soil, and vegetation are working against the building. You are not surveying the lot. You are looking at grade, swales, downspouts, window wells, driveways, and retaining walls that can wet the foundation or the cladding.

The six-inch rule

IRC R401.3 wants the ground to fall at least 6 inches in the first 10 feet, unless drains or swales carry water away. A flat or reverse grade at a crawlspace or basement is a moisture condition even when you do not see water that day. Say where the water goes.

What you do not claim

Buried drain tile, hidden footing drains, and septic tanks are not visible. Describe the limitation. A damp band, efflorescence, or a downspout that ends at the wall is still reportable from the surface.
